Brief Profile

Dr Dudekula Anwar Basha joined this premier nutrition research institute, ICMR – National Institute of Nutrition, as Scientist ‘B’ in February 2018. He obtained an MSc (2007) and a PhD (2014) in Anthropology from Sri Venkateswara University (SVU), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. He has been involved in various scientific projects that included the Establishment of Nutrition Surveillance Systems – NSS (Odisha), the Development of Evidence-Based Food Models for Children (Gujarat), AES outbreak investigations in Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Diet and Biomarkers Survey in India – DABS-I (Tripura). He participated in four national & two state-level surveys of the Sero surveillance regarding COVID-19. He is registered as a Research Guide in the Dept. of Anthropology, SVU, Tirupati, and the Dept. of Food, Nutrition & Dietetics, Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. He has an effort in Epidemiology, Nutritional Surveillance, Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) and Metabolic Syndromes (MetS). He is concerned with Nutritional Anthropology, Nutritional Epidemiology and Public Health Nutrition.
