Brief Profile

Obtained M.Sc. (Biochemistry) & Ph.D.(Biochemistry) from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam; currently working as Scientist-F in Lipid Chemistry Division, National Institute of Nutrition, Hyderabad. His area of research is on Nutritional Biochemistry which includes understanding the secondary complications of diabetes, pre-diabetes, especially cataract, retinopathy, nephropathy and to delay these complications by plant/dietary agents using different (type-1, type-2 and pre-diabetic) animal models. The other focused area is on Public Health Nutrition which includes Geriatric nutrition, Non-communicable diseases. Currently working on dietary saturated fats in the development and progression of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease using animal models.
